Anonymous chat without a login
No account, no email, no phone number, no app to install. Open the page and you are talking to a real person as "Somebody". This page says plainly what anonymous means on Always Somebody, what we do keep, and what anonymity can't protect you from.
What we don't ask for
- No sign-up of any kind. No email address, no phone number, no password, no social login. There is nothing to verify and nothing to forget.
- No name needed. Everyone appears as "Somebody" unless you choose a name to show. A first name or a nickname is fine; anything that looks like a phone number or a handle is refused, so you can't give yourself away by accident.
- No exact location. People see your province or state and your country, or only your country if you prefer. Never your street or your exact position, and we never ask your phone for GPS.
- No camera. Chats are text, and voice only if you both agree. Nobody sees your face or your IP address.
What we do keep, and why
Anonymous doesn't mean nothing is stored; it means nothing is stored that identifies you.
- A random ID in your browser, so that Save, your friends list and Block work the next time you come back. It isn't tied to a name, an email or a phone.
- Reports and blocks, because an anonymous site without them fills up with people you don't want to meet. When several different people report someone, that person is kept away from everyone else.
- Friends' chats. Chats with strangers aren't stored and disappear when the chat ends. If you both tap Save, that chat and the ones after it are kept in your Friends thread so you can read them later.
- An email address only if you give one, to get notified when a friend writes. It's optional and you can remove it.
The privacy policy lists all of it, with how long each thing is kept.
What anonymity can't do
It can't take back what you type. If you tell someone your full name, your workplace and the café you go to every morning, you aren't anonymous any more, and the other person can screenshot a chat like anyone can. So: keep names, addresses, schools and workplaces out of it, never send money to someone you met here, and remember that links aren't clickable on purpose. If somebody pushes for personal details, Next ends the chat and Block makes sure you never meet them again.
Anonymous, not lawless
Always Somebody is for adults, 18 and over, and the house rules are short: be decent, no harassment, nothing sexual with someone who hasn't asked, nothing illegal. Anonymity here is for people who want to talk without being tracked, not for people who want to hurt others without being stopped. Reports count, and they work.
How it starts
- Tap Start talking. Nothing to fill in.
- You are matched with one real person, near you first, or anywhere if you choose. Every message is translated as it is sent, so any language works.
- Next for somebody new; Save if you click with someone and want to find them again.
