An Omegle alternative for adults who just want to talk
Omegle closed for good on November 8, 2023. A lot of people still miss what it did best: open a page, meet a stranger, and have a real conversation. Always Somebody keeps that idea and fixes the parts that made Omegle hard to love.
What stays the same
- One-on-one with a stranger. No rooms to scroll through, no profiles to fill in. You meet one person at a time.
- No sign-up. No email, no phone number, no account. Open the page and start.
- Next is one tap away. Not a match? Move on to somebody new straight away.
What's different
- Near you first. We look for somebody close to home before going wider: your area, then your province or state, then your country, then the world. Prefer the whole world? Choose Anywhere.
- Save the good ones. If you both tap Save, you become friends and can message each other later, even when one of you is offline. On Omegle a great chat was gone the moment it ended.
- Interests that help. Add a few interests and we'll try to match you with somebody who likes the same things.
- Icebreakers. Stuck for words? There's a question ready to ask, and a question of the day.
- Reports that count. When several different people report someone, that person is kept apart from everyone else and then paused.
- Adults only. Always Somebody is for people 18 and over.
- Text first. Chat is text for now. Voice and video are planned, and they will only ever start when both people agree.
What happens to your messages
Chats with strangers aren't stored. They disappear when the chat ends. Only messages between people who saved each other are kept, so you can read them later. People only ever see your province or state and country, never your city. The privacy policy has the details.
Nobody around?
Always Somebody is new, so some hours are quiet. If nobody is free after a few seconds, you can chat with Sunny while you wait. Sunny is an AI and is always labelled as one. You stay in line, and we switch you to a real person the moment somebody is free.
