Child safety standards
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Always Somebody is for adults 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, and any sexual content involving a minor.
What is not allowed
- Anyone under 18 using Always Somebody.
- Sharing, asking for or linking to any sexual image, video or text involving a minor.
- Grooming: trying to befriend, pressure or meet a minor for sexual purposes.
- Any talk that sexualises children.
How we keep minors out and act on reports
- 18+ only. Everyone must confirm they are 18 or older before they can chat.
- Report in one tap. Every chat has a Report button with a Seems under 18 reason. Reporting ends the chat straight away and the two people are never matched again.
- Locks. When two different people report an account as under 18, it is locked for 30 days. Accounts reported by several people are kept apart from everyone and paused.
- Photos are checked. Profile photos are checked by an automated system before anyone sees them, and a photo reported as inappropriate is removed.
- No stranger media. Chats with strangers are text and live voice only; people cannot send pictures or files to strangers.
What we do about child sexual abuse material
When we learn of CSAM or of a child at risk, we remove the content, ban the accounts involved, keep the information the law requires, and report it to the authorities: the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, Cybertip.ca in Canada, and the police or the national authority where the person appears to be. We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us.
Report a concern
- In the app: tap Report during a chat and choose Seems under 18 or the reason that fits.
- By email: write to our child safety contact, imexinco@gmail.com, with the subject "Child safety report". We read these first.
- If a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the US). You can also report directly to NCMEC CyberTipline or Cybertip.ca.
